Water is very important for the human body. Water is essential to good health.
Without water, your body would stop working properly. If you don't drink enough water, this can effect your performance and energy level and cause tiredness. A lack of water can lead to dehydration.  

The human body needs water
The human body consists of more than 50% of water. Every system in the body depends on water.
Every day you lose water trough sweating, exhaling, urinating and bowel movements. The lungs expel between 2 and 4 cups of water each day trough normal breathing. If your feet sweat you loose another cup of water.
For your body to function properly, you need to replace this water by consumping food and beverages yhat contain water. Food provides about 20% of total water intake. The remaning 80% comes from beverages of all kinds. The best beverage to take is still water.

How much water do you need?
How much water you should drink vary by individual and depends on many factors: where you live, how active you are, your health, etc.
If you exercise or do activities that makes you sweat, you will have tot drink extra water to compensate for that fluid loss.
You need to drink additional water in hot or humid weather to help lower your body temperature and to replce what you lose trough sweating.
Some signs and symptoms of illness, such as fever, vomiting and diarrhea cause your body te lose extra fluids.
Women who are pregnant or breast-feeding need additional water to stay hydrated and to replenish the fluids lost.
It is possible to drink too much water. Drinking excessive amouts can overwelm the kidney's ability to get rid of the water.

Diet
Water is calorie free. So it is the best liquid you can drink in a "loose weight diet".
